I read my friends page more often than my Bible. I bet I'm not the only one.
So, I had the idea that I might read my Bible more often if it showed up on my friends page. Then I decided to actually make it happen.
I will post a bit of the Bible every day, starting on September 12, 2005. I will follow a one-year Bible reading plan that I found online, so I should be back to the beginning again by this time next year. If it seems to be going well at that point, I will repeat the process.
I will not post anything but the Bible in this journal, but I will leave comments tentatively enabled so that people can respond to what they read if they wish.
God bless,
juleakab
Notes:
1. The Bible reading plan that I am using is not strictly chronological. Each day of the week focuses on a different section of the Bible: Monday = The Law, Tuesday = History, Wednesday = Psalms, Thursday = Poetry, Friday = Prophecy, Saturday = Gospels, Sunday = Epistles. I expect that this format will make for entries of extremely varying lengths.
2. The version of the Bible I am posting is the NIV. There are other versions that are also good, but I happen to like this one.
3. Most of these passages are pretty long. If you're not used to reading big chunks of Scripture all at once, here are some tips on making the most of it.
